BIO

With a baritone described as “richer than Fort Knox” (Show Business Magazine), Douglas Ladnier is a powerhouse vocalist, Broadway performer, and EMMY®-nominated songwriter who has captivated audiences and critics alike worldwide.  Whether commanding the stage in a blockbuster Broadway musical, delivering a soul-stirring ballad, swinging a famous standard or reimagining the legendary songs of Sinatra, Elvis, Bob Dylan or Neil Diamond, Ladnier’s voice is a force of nature—mesmerizing, timeless, evocative, and unforgettable. “World-class” (StageSceneLA).

His newest concert, WHERE IT BEGAN – The Greatest Hits of Neil Diamond played two sold-out performances at 54 BELOW in NYC and in venues from coast-to-coast. More than just a tribute to a national treasure and legendary singer-songwriter, this electrifying concert breathes new life into Diamond’s iconic catalog, blending faithful renditions with Ladnier’s signature storytelling and unparalleled vocal and emotional depth. His new album DIAMONDS (Live) is available now on all Digital Music Streaming Platforms.

A veteran of the Broadway stage, Douglas performed 11 roles in the original Broadway production of Jekyll & Hyde and has starred in many critically-acclaimed musicals across the country. His solo concerts, recognized with a Backstage Bistro Award for Outstanding Vocalist, have made him a fixture in some of New York’s most prestigious venues, including The Town Hall, 54 BELOW, The Oak Room at the Plaza, Bar 65 at Rockefeller Center, Iridium Jazz Club, The Metropolitan Room and Merkin Concert Hall.

His talent has earned him widespread critical acclaim too. The New York Times calls him simply  “the best”, while Rex Reed raves in The New York Observer  that Douglas’ “melting baritone could singlehandedly revive the art of the ballad, the love song, and the heart-breaker.” At every performance, Ladnier leaves audiences spellbound, on their feet, and “in a state of euphoria” (TalkinBroadway.com).

Douglas received a Daytime EMMY® nomination for Outstanding Original Song. “Shine,” was nominated after a performance on ABC’s General Hospital.

Beyond concert halls, international and American cruises, intimate night clubs and the Broadway stage, Douglas has thrilled audiences all over America playing iconic roles including Sweeney Todd, Pontius Pilate (Jesus Christ Superstar), Jafar (Aladdin), El Gallo (The Fantasticks), Dracula, and many more.

No matter the stage, no matter the song, Douglas Ladnier delivers an experience that “pays off like a blue chip stock” (TalkinBroadway.com) —an experience that lingers in the heart and soul long after the final note.
